Happy Birthday Sailor!!

Sailor's birthday was August 22!
It is so hard to believe Sailor is already two! She is growing up so fast right before my eyes. Sailor is so independent already and has, of course, been in the terrible two's for several months now! She is into everything, she pulls things out faster than I can put them up. She does not like for me to be on the computer but loves to be on it herself. She has assumed ownership of my Ipod and has her own play list. Of course, at the top of the list is...Single Ladies, Boom Pow and Poker Face, and yes she sings along!! She repeats everything, so watch what you say. She will quickly say, "we don't say that", after spouting out something she knows is not appropriate. She no longer likes Beamer and hits him regularly only to follow with, "It was an accident". Sailor is doing great with potty training. Some days are better than others with the occasional accident. She naps well in the afternoon but fights sleep like nothing else at nighttime.
We decided to have a downsized party this year with only family. We were hoping to get downsized gifts as well seeing that toyland has taken over our home. Joe still had to drive his truck up to Nana and Pop's pool fence to load up her loot! I am not sure how that has happened either, it is like I blinked and it was invasion of toyland and I am not sure how to correct this problem. Sailor had a great time at her party. All she asked for was balloons and birthday cake. Of course she got those along with a few other items.

Brighton's first boat ride!

Should have been in Church! And yes he is a little young to venture out on the boat but oh well we did it anyway. All summer Joe, Sailor and I went out for breakfast on the water and tried all the marinas around who serve breakfast. We have decided we like the lighthouse at Euchee best. We talked about how much fun and good it is that Nana and Pop decided to finally get their boat out of storage and take Brighton on his first ride. Well I am getting to the should have been in Church part. We decided to go out Sunday morning since we did not think we were ready to take Brighton to Church yet and beat the crowds to the buffett! Well needless to say we did not quite make the early bird special. Half way to Euchee Nana and Pop's boat began to stall a little and after a short time would not go any faster than a swift idle. We decided we better make a hard right and head for my grandparent's house to check things out. It gets a little worse. About half way from where the boat stalled and began to idle it stopped completely. So, everyone we knew to call for help were of course where they should be, in Church. Joe began to paddle, too bad I did not get a picture of him sitting on the front of the boat, it was quite comical, however, by this point I am second guessing my decision to take my one and half week old for his first boat ride. I know this sounds a little silly that I was just then second guessing. Anyway, long story short, a nice fisherman came along and gave us a short tow to my grandparents where we docked our non-working boat, boarded theirs and proceeded to arrowhead, a much closer marina, and had lunch instead of breakfast! Joe, Pop and I drove in to town and picked up Pop's trailer and Nana's car with car seats while Nana, Sailor and Brighton waited in the air conditioning and had a nice visit with GrannyFran and Granddaddy. The funny thing is Pop's boat fired right up and ran like a champ when they went back to get it out of the water. Who knows, sometimes boats are nothing but trouble. Brighton not only took his first ride but got ride on two boats all in the same day! Moral of this story is, don't try to beat the church crowd, join them after attending with them!

Brighton's Room!

Brighton loves his room so far! I think he has actually gotten more use out of the crib in his first two weeks than Sailor did in two years!

Congratulations POP!

Several months ago Pop received his black belt in karate! He got to celebrate and be honored at his Black Belt Ceremony held at Ozone falls a couple of weekends ago. We did not get to go because Brighton had just come home from the hospital. We just wanted to tell Pop congrats and how proud we are of him!

Brighton's first trip to the park!

Bless his heart, this was his first trip to the park, I only got one picture of him and he didn't even get to get out of his seat to enjoy it. He actually slept through the whole trip!

Brighton's first few days!

Brighton and sailor are becoming fast friends. Sailor is doing great with our new addition only a little rough at times. I guess she knows she has to be rough to keep up with all the boys in the family.

Cheese burger!...no that is not what is all over her face!

Brighton Cole Presley

Another "Greatest" day of our lives!!! The greatest day of our lives was the title of my blog almost two years ago so excuse my grammar, but this is the only way I can describe this amazing, wonderful day. Throughout my pregnancy I had many mixed emotions. How can I possibly love two as much as just one? How do I split my time and my attention? Why am I doing this to Sailor who has been the center of my attention and love for almost 2 years.
I truly feel like all those emotions and questions were answered at 7:13pm on August 4th. I can't describe the immediate love you feel all over again to see your child, this little guy come into this world and then to see Sailor's face when she finally got to meet her little brother. Truly "priceless".
Waiting for Brighton!

Our day began by dropping Sailor off with Nana around 5:00am. We headed to the hospital and were admitted. I was dilated to 3cm and having contractions pretty regularly when the doctor came in to break my water. The day progressed a little slowly I guess. I remember being told I was fully dilated and ready around 4pm. I was feeling pretty good. I waited for a while and the nurse finally came to begin pushing about an hour later. I did have trouble throughout the day with my epidural. It would wear off on one side and then the other. The anesthesiologist returned several times to give more medicine but by the time I began pushing there was not much relief. Anyway, I have to say Sailor came into the world much more comfortably but with probably the same amount of effort!
Brighton has had a first name for a while but just like his sister, we gave him a middle name the night after he was born. Cole was not really on the list until very recently. We decided on Cole, after me, Nicole, and also decided he needed somewhat of a normal middle name just in case he hates his first name down the road.
Sailor has really adjusted well. I have been very impressed with her. She is a very BIG helper. She immediately began hugging and kissing him when they first met. She is loving sharing her toys with him, I have to watch as he will be piled high with stuffed animals and other things.
Brighton has done well since coming home. Our first night was good, up about every 2 hours which was to be expected. The next two nights were a little ruff with periods of inconsolable crying. Last night was good again with routine wakings and feedings.
