Sailor and the Sand!

Sailor got a new sand box last Sunday. She and I got to play all day on Monday. I wanted Sailor to get to experience sand before we travel to the beach next week. I am invisioning another grass episode. We decided we needed a sand box to practice! She loved it. I say she loved it because she did not cry at all. She mostly just sat there and chewed a shovel but no crying is really good. She let me cover her legs with sand and she got a few handfuls! Colton came over in the afternoon and I think he and I enjoyed building things and playing in it a little more than Sailor did but we all had a great time.

Congratulations Peyton!

Last weekend Sailor and I traveled to Nashville with Heather, Bruce, Peyton, Colton, Mom and Dad. Peyton was invited to be honored at Vanderbilt because he did so well on the ACT. He is so stinking smart it really amazes me. We had a great weekend. Sailor and I unfortunately did not get to attend the ceremony. Peyton was only allowed 2 guests, however, Sailor and I did have an enjoyable day shopping at Opry Mills. We all celebrated afterwards at the Aquarium restaurant which was wonderful. Joe did not get to go due to a prior obligation, fishing tournament, which I should also congratulate him and Buddy who finished 7th, I think, anyway they did score some cash so that is always nice!

Sailor loved the fish, she was rubber necking to see them!

The shark reminded me of Jabber Jaws an old cartoon on the Cartoon Express!

Our new tree!

Tonight Joe planted our new nectarine tree. We planted it right beside the garage so I will see it every time I pull in the driveway and think of Sailor and our first Mother's day.

Go Tigers!

Saturday mom, dad, Sailor and I went to Fountain City to watch Colton's 8 and under tournament team play baseball. I have to say, Colton is a really good baseball player and I enjoy watching him in these competitive tournaments. He is a good sport and loves the game. Sailor had a great time playing on her quilt in the grass with Peyton and Brooke. I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pictures except with my phone which does not take great pictures.

We found a swing at the ball park and Sailor loved it, She had to text the picture to daddy while we were there and tell him how much she needs a swing. He is working on it!

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day was very special this year. It was my very first one. I have to say it was probably the best one yet and I look forward to many, many more. I am so blessed to be the mom to such a wonderful, special little girl. I could just go on and on and describe her in so many different ways but I will stop and tell everyone about my great day. We began the day a little stressed I must say as are all Sunday mornings. I thought we were doing really well on time but of course not, we made it to church just as the choir began to sing after meeting Heather in the parking lot to say Happy Mother's Day and she gave me a framed note she and Sailor had worked on together along with two books from Sailor for us to read together. Luckily we scored a back row seat just big enough for Joe, Sailor, mom, dad and me. After church Joe and Sailor gave me my mother's Day present, A nectarine tree for Sailor and me to plant so we will always remember our first Mother's day together! Joe, Sailor and I went to visit Granny Wanda next. We did not take any pictures there because Granny Wanda did not want her picture made. We had a great time visiting! Next we headed to Granny Fran and Granddaddy's. Needless to say Sailor was worn out by this time but we still had a good visit. We ended the night at Nana and Pop's. Sailor had a big day. I am so happy to be a mom and especially Sailor's mom. I hope everyone else had as good a day as I did, Happy Mother's Day!

Granny Fran and Granddaddy

Sailor got to try out "Ollie", this toy has been a favorite of all the grand kids and great grand kids at Granny Fran and Granddaddy's.

Sailor meets Eli and Noah!

Friday night we were able to go to a cookout at our friend's Mitch and Susan's to celebrate Mitch's birthday back in April. Susan and Mitch and Jay and Amanda have new babies. They were both born on the same day, in the same hospital! Sailor had a big time playing in the grass with all the boys. All the big boys got to play in the grass also with an intense game of Cornhole! We all ended up inside as a storm blew in chatting and watching the different stages of babies. We had a great time.

Sailor was concerned with Noah crying and wanted to console him!

Sailor was loving dancing with Donnie, He is practicing for baby Maddox on the way. Hope I have the spelling right?

Sailor wouldn't crawl in the grass, Mitchell's grass was way too healthy!

Eli did not mind the stiff grass, He was comfortable anywhere!

Sailor and Thomas. Sailor says...what daddy, I'm not flirting!

Eli says, "don't squeeze too hard".

Sailor says, "Oh I'm sorry, did I hurt you"?

WE HAVE TEETH!!

I am a little behind the times these days. I have been slowly working on this same little post for a whole week. Wednesday before last Sailor finally got two teeth. She had been a little more fussy than usual and had a few restless nights. Sure enough two bottom teeth broke through on Wednesday. She is just changing and growing so fast. It seems like overnight she has learned so many new things. She began crawling as I wrote about before in a previous post. She has learned to wave bye, bye and is beginning to babble bye, bye on cue! I am finding just like other moms are saying, I have less and less time to blog. I will try to keep up. I have not been able to get any pictures of her teeth yet. I will post them as soon as I get them! I thought these pictures were just cute of her sitting in the grass on our day off!
