I hope Sailor is right handed for a number of reasons...Mostly because she got her 1st softball glove and they only had right handed ones. You also can not play 2nd base if you are Left handed, not that she has to play 2nd base but it is very difficult to do this. Mom, Dad, Joe and I were discussing this topic and Mom and I decided the world is really designed for right handed people. Anyway, I don't have a huge problem with this because really the only thing I do left handed is write. Well I pitched in school a little left handed but this posed a problem because once the other team found out that I could not throw overhanded well Left handed all they did was bunt towards third and this was a bigger problem if the 3rd baseman did not get there. I am rambling but I have thought about this. I watch her play with things and try to figure out which she will be but I am not sure if you can tell at this stage. If anyone knows feel free to let me in on this. I have not researched it yet! Who knows she may not even be interested in softball but it won't be because she doesn't have a glove!
Sailor with her glove. This was her most special Christmas present from her daddy and me. I ordered it a little late and it was actually delivered on my birthday. She did not get to open it on Christmas but it came in a really cute box with a bow. Sailor is wearing her New York Yankees bib in the picture. Colton got this for her. She also has a onesie, blanket, shoes and hat to match. Tara, I thought Connor might like this. I wasn't sure if he has decided on the Yankees or the Braves?
Her glove is so cute. It is personalized with her name and birthdate. It is just like a real glove. It actually looks just like a small version of mine. We can't wait to watch her play with it. We sing the song "Put me in coach" all the time. I think it is one of her favorites!

That is so cute!!! Where did you find that glove? So adorable! I love that it is pink and embroidered inside! To answer your question- we are a house divided as of now. Connor will get all of his Yankees stuff from my family, but I am not sure how much Daddy will let him wear it. Funny thing though... I dress him! Ha!
By the way, I read somewhere that you cant really tell for sure about the dominant hand until they are 2. Connor is still showing signs of being a lefty! We will see...
I love her glove. I can't believe that I had to see it on your blog instead of getting down there to see her more often! When I do see her it's at mom's house and of course she doesn't carry her glove around yet! Keep on singing that song. One of Rockwood's best Baseball Catchers used to play that from his truck before every single game! It's a great song and brings back lots of spring memories for me! I'll get her a basketball too...sorry, Tara, but I'm going to have to promote anything besides cheerleading!!! Let's see, golf in the fall, basketball in the winter and softball in the spring!!!
I agree no cheerleading. I often worry Gracie will want to cheer... haha. Not that it will really matter, but sure we'd like them to play ball like we did! Gracie is now 3 1/2 and I'm not sure if she is right or left handed. She uses both. She eats right handed, throws a ball left handed... maybe she is ambidextrious (i'm sure I spelled that wrong).
sports all the way!! oh i love the glove nikki.. that is awesome and I will definitely need one of those for my little one when the time comes. where did you get it?
