Sailor, Brighton and I have met up with Amanda and Eli the past couple of weeks at the splash pad in Farragut. Sailor, my little water dog, has loved it!

Brighton-3wk and Sailor-2 year checkups!
This post is a little behind but I still wanted to document our trip! I have never thought of myself as being claustrophobic until this doctor visit. 3 weeks ago Sailor and Brighton were scheduled for their checkups and I thought the timing was good, we would just kill two birds with one stone and go at the same time...wrong answer! Try squeezing Joe, me, Sailor, Brighton, two nurses, and the doctor into a 6 x 8 room with two plynths and a sink. Maybe that would not have been too bad except Sailor screamed the entire time. I explained to our pediatrictian this was very atypical for her. He really did not acknowledge me and never missed a beat with his questioning. Needless to say next time we will just make two trips to the doctor. As I said in an earlier post, Sailor is doing excellent with potty training. The nurses wanted a urine sample so off we went to go potty carrying our "special little potty" to capture the urine. I guess Sailor had stage fright, she could not go. So for the remainder of the visit she wanted to go back to the potty to use the "special potty" which really meant she wanted to go play. This only lead to more screaming each time we left the bathroom unsuccessful. Finally she did go potty and we collected the sample. Dr. Fogle asked if she was weened from the bottle and we said not at night and naptime...So she proceeded to screem "I want bottle", I am sure he thinks we are lying about that. He asked if she is putting 2-3 words together while she is screeming "I need to go potty and I want my bottle" I am not sure why he could not answer that question himself. Anyway Joe answered Brighton's nurse and I tried to keep up with Sailor's. I am probably exaggerating a little but it was not a good experience.

Take my downstairs!
Sailor and Joe have an afternoon event that occurs daily. She calls daddy on the phone, usually on his way home from work and asks him to "take my downstairs". She refers to herself as "my" instead of "me". She often speaks in 3rd person, "watch Sailor do it", or "Sailor feed Brighton", but she also says things like "watch my do it" or "let my do it". Anyway, back to my story. Downstairs in our basement is a pile of junk toys that belonged to my nephews that accumulated over the years. They are random things like yugioh cards, McDonald's happy meal toys, little cars, etc... Joe lets Sailor go down and shop every day. She gets to pick 2 or 3 things each day. She thinks this is the greatest thing and looks forward to it everyday! One day last week this is what she came up with...a red Pirates of the Caribbean do rag, a shrek watch, Ripley's light up necklace and a numbers counting book. The only bad thing is all these random junk toys are once again scattered around my house. Note to self, I should have thrown all this stuff away a long time ago but it is awful cute that she loves this so much.
